DeMent of Mount Vernon, Illinois, born in East Saint Louis, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 4, 2024 at the age of 81. He is survived by: his wife Margie Ann DeMent (Wilson); his daughters, Stacie Goodheart (Mark) of Mount Vernon and Stephanie Herrington (Douglas) of Marietta, Georgia; his grandchildren, Makenzie Goodheart (Jake Wylie), Madison Goodheart, Morgan Goodheart, Will Herrington, Jack Herrington and Andrew Herrington; his sister Barbara Winder; his niece Pam Winder; and his nephew Tim Winder (Margo).
Memorials may be made in Richard's honor to Shriner's Hospital for Children.
