She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Howell and Vivian Howell (Robinson); her brother Claude "Sonny" Howell; and her grandparents, Robert, Letha Howell (Moore), Ivan and Beatrice Robinson (Allen).

She is survived by: her husband Dwight Chambliss; her children, D. H. Chambliss (Tammy) of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Lisa Trout (Kevin) of Mount Vernon, Illinois; her grandchildren, Josh Trout (Emily), Jacob Trout (Katie) and Amanda Schafer (Zack); her great grandchildren, Eli Trout, Nora Trout, Lydia Borger, Izaiah Borger, Drew Schafer and Zoey Schafer; her sister Joyce Rogers (Don) of Mount Vernon, Illinois; and her friend Ruthann Whitlock. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in Peggy 's honor to SSM Health at Home Hospice or Mount Vernon Countryside Manor.
