He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harry Schmitt and Myrtle Schmitt (Campbell); his wife Alice Schmitt of Mt. Vernon; his child Robin Sinclair; and his siblings, Joyce Frasier of Mt. Vernon and Wendell Schmitt. He was also cherished by 11 Grandchildren 15 Great-Grandchildren.
