With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Michael Shannon O'Dea Jr. of Mount Vernon, Illinois, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on June 14, 2024 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his mother Margie Louise Womack (Ross); his stepfather Glenn Womack, Jr.; his grandparents, Riley Ross and Rebecca Rose Cassada Ross; and his stepgrandmother Amanda Cassada Pittman Ross.

He is survived by: his wife Vickie Lynn O'Dea (Mayo); his sons, Michael Shannon O'Dea III (Janice) of Longview and Christopher Shaun O'Dea of Murray, Kentucky; his grandson Matthew O'Dea; his brothers, John Womack of Mount Vernon and Eric Womack (Jolyn) of Sesser, Illinois; and his nephews, Justin Womack (Bree) and Joshua "Josh" Womack.

Memorials may be made in Mike's honor to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
