He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilson Ramler and Susie Irene Smith (Hogue); his son Brian Michael Smith (Barbara) of Bluford, Illinois; and his siblings, William Smith, Becky Rodish and Bob Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Lynn Smith (Betts); his daughter Roxanna Lynn Crain (James) of Mount Vernon, Illinois; his grandchildren, Sandra Bauer, Jacquelin Bain, Travis Smith, Ashley, Kelsey Smith, Jesse Smith and Karregan; and his sisters, Sally Woods (George) of Keenes, Jane Bethard (Gerald) of Texico and Jan Brown (Tom) of Mount Vernon, Illinois. He is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren.
