With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Matthew Ellis of Mount Vernon, Illinois, born in Long Beach, California, who passed away on July 25, 2020 at the age of 30. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his grandparents, James Ellis, Sr. and Laura Thurby. He is survived by: his parents, Michael Ellis and Kimberly Ellis (Thurby); his wife Tara Ellis (Ricketts) of Mt. Vernon; his children, Holden Alexander Ellis, Savannah Lee Ellis and Jada Jayne Smith-Ellis; his goddaughter Baylee LeFrancois; his grandparents, Jerry Thurby and Anna Ellis; his brother Bruce Ellis; his parents-in-law, Becky Wells and Todd Ricketts; and his brothers-in-law, Trent Ricketts and Victor Wells.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Matthew's children college fund, which has been set up at Evansville Teacher's Bank, will be accepted at the funeral home.
