She was predeceased by: her father Neal Wallace; and her brother Bobby Neal Wallace. She is survived by: her spouse G. B. Holman, Jr.; her son Kevin McConnaughhay (Teri) of Iuka, Illinois; her grandson Michael McConnaughhay (Alissa) of Iuka; her stepgrandsons, Myles Allali and Samuel Allali; her great grandchild Maci McConnaughhay (Mylee McConnaughhay); her stepgreat-grandsons, Felix Allali and Jules Allali; and her sister-in-law Doris Wallace of Mount Vernon. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in Joan's honor to Logan Street Baptist Church.
