He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Schmidt-Reed and Avoil Schmidt-Reed (VanAntwerp); his children, Stephen Schmidt and Robyn Schmidt Brogan; his great grandchild Aaron Reed; and his siblings, Jerry Schmidt, Vana Baker and Nancy Stokes.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Schmidt (Cochrum); his children, John Schmidt of Ransom, Donald Schmidt (Keri) of Saunemin, Steven Tate (Jan) of Mansfield and Amy Ward (Jeff) of Wildwood, Missouri; and his grandchildren, Adam Ward, Douglas Vaughan, Stephen Schmidt, Jr., Matthew Schmidt, Lauren Bazzoli (Ward), Caitlin McCracken (Ward), Kelly Henning, Kristy Berwick, Kelsey Schmidt, Ryli Schmidt and Keri Collins. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in Larry's honor to Bethel Baptist Church.
