He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius "Jude" Just and Anna Mae Just (DePohtaut); his siblings, Judith Saale and Pete Just; his son James "Jamie" Jones; and his son-in-law Mark Barnhouse.
He is survived by: his wife Jan (Woods-Jones) of Carbondale, IL; his children, Jeff Jones (Dee), Jennifer Jones of New Orleans, LA and Julie Bird (Brian) of Makanda, IL; and his siblings, James "Jim" Just of Sandoval, IL and Janet Lackey of Mount Vernon, IN. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
