It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jessie Bowden Sr. of Mount Vernon, Illinois, born in Tupelo, Mississippi, who passed away on June 17, 2020, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Edward and Mary Kate Bowden (Hughes); his wife Norma Bowden (Butler); his daughter Pamela Bowden; and his siblings, Dennis Bowden, Bobby Bowden, Andrea Bowden and Stevenson Bowden.
He is survived by: his children, Jessie Bowden, Jr. (JoAnn) of Mount Vernon, Eric Bowden of Mount Vernon, Jason Bowden of Mount Vernon, Michelle Bowden of Mount Vernon and Jacqueline Davis (Peter) of Nashville, Tennessee; his siblings, Jennie Kilgore of Newark, Laura Strong of West Point, Inell Gardener of Troy, Ruth "Bennie" Mosley of Troy, Gladys Bowden of Nashville, Helen Fayne of Nashville, Carol Grimes of Dickson, Tennessee, Donald Bowden of Tupelo, Mississippi and Charles Bowden of Tupelo, Mississippi; and his aunts, Leona Jackson and Lucille Walker. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren.
