He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Holmes and Ruby Holmes (Dillenger); his granddaughter Zoe Ammon; and his siblings-in-law, Donald and Janice Harper.

He is survived by: his wife Shirlie Holmes of Mt. Vernon; his children, Teresa LaMar of Mt. Vernon, Amy Binkley of Mt. Vernon, Julie Ammon (Jerry) of New Braunfels, Texas, Brad, Karen, Lori and Theresa; his brothers, Bob Holmes (Mary Ann) and Jim Holmes (Jennie); his siblings-in-law, Paula Shank of Mt. Vernon and Dan Johnson (Sherrie) of Elwood, IN; his grandchildren, Justin LaMar (Holly), Megan LaMar, Zachary Hooper, Joshua Ammon, Haley Binkley (Shane), Kendra Blankenship (Brian) and Oliva Ammon; and his great grandchildren, James, Keith, Kelsie LaMar, Zane Scott, Alexis, Jaxtyn Wright, Dakoda Blankenship, Bjorn Ammon and Alonzo Hooper.
