He was predeceased by: his parents, Lilburn Burgess and Louise Burgess (York). He is survived by: his wife Theresa Burgess (Carpenter); his children, Travis Burgess of Mount Vernon, Jesse Burgess of Los Angeles, California and Anitra Klestinski (Jonathan) of Saint Charles, Missouri; his grandchildren, Justus, Matthias and Charley; his siblings, John Burgess (Judy) of Momence, Dee Burgess (Donna) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Cliffanta Brozowski of Kankakee and Diana Deem (Chris) of Michigan; and his close friend Kitty Irvin of Mount Vernon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in Jerry's honor to the Burgess family, in care of Theresa Burgess.
