He was predeceased by: his father David Smith; his stepfathers, Bennie Parr and Tyrone Ashby; his brothers, Michael Greenwood and Joshua Smith; and his grandparents, Doris and Diamond Smith.

He is survived by: his son Brayden Smith-Rinehart of Salem; his mother Charlotte Jordan (Larry) of Mount Vernon; his siblings, Christina Ross (David) of South Carolina, Glenn Smith of Costa Rica, Robert Thomas of Dix, Jamie Rushing (James) of Mount Vernon, Jennifer Clevenger (Ray) of Creal Springs, David Smith (Tammy) of Mount Vernon and Christopher Parr (Brooke) of Swansea; and his stepsiblings, Scott Newsome of Michigan, Ricky Schumer (Tami) of Salem, Bennie Parr of Belleville, Jason Jordan, Jeremy Jordan, Larry Jordan, Tammy Ellrich of Columbia, Chrissie Powers of Belleville, Candie Jordan, Karen Jordan, Kasey Jordan, Kelly Jordan, Heidi Jordan and Tracy Parr of Belleville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
