She was predeceased by: her father Robert "Gene" Mitchell; her husband Reverend Michael Allen Steed; her brother Steve Mitchell; and her brother-in-law Denny Steed. She is survived by: her children, Holly Braddock (Keith) of Maryville, Illinois and Ryan Steed (Ashley) of Belton; her grandchildren, Chandler, Cade, Cloee Braddock of Maryville, Gabby and Addyson Steed of Belton; and her siblings, Dan Mitchell (Julie), Tony Mitchell (Teresa), Nancy Thomas (Steve), Clara Vaughn (Dean), Greg Mitchell and Chris Mitchell (Cathy) of Enfield, Illinois. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many friends.

Memorials may be made in Jane's honor to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital.
