He is survived by: his mother-in-law Debbie Ashby (Maier); his children, Tia Takigawa (Mike) of Carmel, Chris Ashby (Michelle) of Mount Vernon, Shawn Ashby of Phoenix, James "Trey" Ashby III of Greenwood and Bria Ashby of Nashville, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Megan, Mallory, Colleen, Andrew, Katelyn, Ellyn, Erin, Emma, Jimmy, Katya and Vika; his siblings, Bill Ashby (Toni), John Ashby (Juliette), Tom Ashby, Charles Ashby (Neesi), Patrick Ashby (Sheila), Mark Ashby, Mary Kay Clark, Elizabeth Ashby, Patricia Hunter (Paul), Theresa Malekovic (Reed) and Loretta Stevens (Kent); and his siblings-in-law, Doug Maier (Susan), Brad Maier and Brenda Eaton (Ron). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
