He was predeceased by: his parents, Steve Hayes and Della Hayes (House); his former wife Ella Maxine Henn; his wife Maxine Hayes; his son Wendell Hayes; and his siblings, Stevie Hayes, Walter Hayes, Robbie Hayes, J. C. Hayes, Wanda Mitchell, Betty Brumley and Marie Pierce.
He is survived by: his daughter Bonita Rae Warner (Wilburn) of Mt. Vernon; his grandchildren, Jason Darnell Hayes, William Joseph Warner, Thomas James Warner and Jennifer LeRae Fenton; his great grandchildren, Cole Hayes, Bristol Hayes, Samantha Warner, Mikeall Warner, Denny Warner, Whitney Warner, Travis Warner, Ella Warner, Jesse Warner, Dylon Fenton, Sydney Fenton, Addison Fenton and Joslin Fenton; and his siblings, Marvin Lee Hayes, Irene Madelyn, Barbara Graham and Phyllis Crow.
