He was predeceased by: his father Charles Ilbery; his wife Linda Faye Ilbery; his children, Cindy L. Hails and Jimmy Dale Ilbery; his grandson Harley Joe Hails; and his siblings, Mary Plemons, Charles Ilbery, Jr., Arlene Plemons, Betty Plemons, Wilma Joy Ilbery, John Ilbery (Jack), Edie Pitchford and Earl Ilbery (Butch).

He is survived by: his children, Mark Ilbery (Debbie) of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Gina Lewis (Steve) of Mount Vernon, Kim Dent (Barry) of Mount Vernon, Melody Bayer of Mount Vernon, Lisa Ross (Scott) of Woodlawn and Chasity Utlaut (Shawn) of Mount Vernon, Illinois; and his sister Lenore Clark of Woodlawn, Illinois.. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren.
