He was predeceased by: his parents, George B. Thompson and Sara Elizabeth Thompson (Sanders); his spouse Bettyjane Patterson; his daughter Dorotha Thompson; his sons-in-law, Jim Eckelberry and Gale Mathus; and his grandson David Mathus.
He is survived by: his daughters, Francis Eckelberry of Mount Vernon, Kathy Traiteur (Robert) of Johnsonville and Elizabeth Mathus of Mount Vernon; his grandchildren, Dave Eckelberry, Joe Eckelberry (Paula), Marty Eckelberry (Missy), Rob Traiteur (Christina), Rich Traiteur, Evette Traiteur, Scott Traiteur, Richard Mathus and Misy Read; his great grandchildren, Megan Eckelberry, Kyle, Ryan Meador, Tyler Eckelberry, Ally, Cody, Savanna Eckelberry, Donovan, Andria, Josh Traiteur, Roni Mason (Kris), Grace Mathus, Jessica Perkins (Mark), Kaitlyn Ramirez (Gonzalo) and Austin Inzerma; and his close friend June Eubanks. He is also survived by several great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church or the Old Union Missionary Baptist Church.
