With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gayla Pate (Mount Vernon, Illinois), who passed away on December 19, 2019 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Bobby Ray and Margaret Martin (Mercer); her husband Stephen Pate; her sons, Billy Hicks and Ronnie Fleener; her brother Steven Mercer; and her sister-in-law Tawaina Allen.

She is survived by: her children, Robin Webb of Mount Vernon and Christian Pate of Mount Vernon; her grandsons, Christopher Webb, Colton Dean Hicks and Erik Hicks; her great grandchildren, Dakota Webb, Jaden Webb and Elijah Webb; her siblings, Kathy Tinsley (Dave) of Woodlawn, Debbie Woolever, Bud Harris of Mount Vernon and Bobby Martin of Mount Vernon; and her siblings-in-law, Barry Pate (Betty) of Mount Vernon and Veronica Clark of Raleigh. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in Gayla's honor to the Pate Family for funeral expenses, in care of Kathy Tinsley or Debbie Woolever.
