It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eugene Corbett of Mount Vernon, Illinois, born in Rostraver, Pennsylvania, who passed away on July 30, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Corbett and Mildred Corbett (Hepple); and his son David Corbett. He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Corbett (Rush); his children, Carol Cook of Mount Vernon, Christine Cross (Robert) of Dahlgren, Cheryl Oliver (Kevin) of Mount Vernon, Paul Corbett (Melissa) of Mount Vernon, Tommy Corbett (Kim) of Opdyke and Faith Hughey of Mount Vernon; and his siblings, Sarah Garus, Dorothy Lawrence, Paul Corbett and Teddy Corbett. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; eighteen great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in Gene's honor to the First Free Will Baptist Church.
