He was predeceased by: his parents, Max Swartz and Ottie Swartz (McManus); and his siblings, Mike Swartz, John Swartz and Sharon Swartz.
He is survived by: his spouse Willie Mae Swartz (Paxton); his son Douglas Swartz, Jr.; his stepsons, Ronald Garrison, Jr., Stanley Garrison, Gregory Garrison and Bradley Garrison; and his siblings, Max Swartz, Jr., Sam Swartz, Tom Swartz, Jeffrey Swartz, Billy Swartz and Wendy Johnson. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in Douglas' honor to Hughey Funeral Home to assist with cremation expenses.
