He was predeceased by: his father Edward Grover; his grandson Lucas Gehrig; and his sister Cindy White. He is survived by: his mother Wilma J. Hayes (Rapp) of Mount Vernon, Illinois; his spouse Leslie Ann Hayes (Rutherford); his children, Chanelle Hayes of Mount Vernon and Charles E. Hayes of Mount Vernon, Illinois; his grandchildren, Payten and Paxtyn; and his brothers, Steve Hayes (Frances Heintz), Harold McIntyre of Mount Vernon and Jefferey Hayes of Mount Vernon, Illinois. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
