It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Schalter (Mount Vernon, Illinois), born in Fairfield, Illinois, who passed away on February 20, 2019, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hubert McRill and Blanche McRill (Cross); her husband Robert Gene "Bob" Schalter; her son Jeff Young; and her sister Pauline Fulk.
She is survived by: her children, Debbie Horn (Dave) of Granite City, Illinois and Mike Young (Monica) of Mount Vernon, Illinois; her stepchildren, Steve Schalter (Valerie) of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Barb Gibson (Steve) of Mount Vernon and Kathy Schaefer (Tom) of South Bend, Indiana; her siblings, Hubert McRill (Susan) of Chatam, Jim McRill (Mary) of Springfield, Illinois, Helen Hartness of Decatur and Doris Goff of Decatur, Illinois; and her grandchildren, Collin, Kim, Chris, Korey, Alex, Greg, Kaitlyn, Emily and Clay. She is also survived by several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
