He was predeceased by: his parents, E. L. Miller and Nora Miller (Beadle); and his sister Phyllis Ward. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy "Dottie" Miller (Barbour); his sons, David Miller (Michelle) of Bonnie, Jon Miller (Karen) of Mount Vernon and Karl Miller (Michelle) of Waltonville, Illinois; his grandchildren, Justin Miller (Emily) of Grand Junction, Kaylyn Klamm (Tyler) of DuBois, Chelsea Miller of Nashville, Keanna Coggins (Hunter) of Nason, Dylan Miller (MacKayla) of Terre Haute and Cooper Miller of Mount Vernon, Illinois; his great grandchildren, Maci Miller of Grand Junction, Kayman Klamm of DuBois, Keatyn Klamm of DuBois, Colson Coggins of Nason, Illinois and Dawn Greenwalt (Kevin) of Xenia, Illinois; and his siblings, Jerry Miller of Chillicothe, Missouri and Doris Holzhauer of Centralia, Illinois. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in Donald's honor to Waltonville Freewill Baptist Church.
