It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Blackwood (Mount Vernon, Illinois), born in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma, who passed away on October 22, 2021, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Burl Blackwood and Dosha Blackwood (Chisum). He is survived by: his children, David Hust of Darien, Georgia, Gloria Burgess (DeWayne, Sr.) of Sallisaw, Phillip Blackwood and Wanda Silva of Mount Vernon, Illinois; his grandchildren, Katherine Ruel, Heather Hust, Paul Joplin, Jr., Hana Burgess Hightower, Josh Burgess, DeWayne Burgess, Jr., Logan Hemker and Lucas Blackwood; and his sister Kay Hendricks Pritchard of Tulsa, Oklahoma.. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Don's honor to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research and will be accepted at the funeral home.
