He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl L. C. and Carrie I. Smith (Milburn); his wife Doris R. Harvey Smith (McMeen); his sons, Paul Smith and Michael Harvey; and his brother Milburn Smith (Helen).
He is survived by: his children, Steven D. Harvey (Susie) of Mount Vernon, Judith Lynn Montgomery (Ray) of Weaverville, Doris Jean Shephard (Coy) of Goldsboro, Miriam Nell Brooks of Springfield and Kathleen J. Kirkpatrick of Springfield, Illinois; and his friend David Boyer. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Logan Street Baptist Church (1704 Harlan Rd, Mt Vernon, IL 62864). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made in Cranston's honor to Logan Street Baptist Church Building Fund.
