He was predeceased by: his children, Michael Satterfield and Mark Satterfield; and his siblings, Verla Shepard, Clyde Satterfield, Vivian Pearson and Evelyn Satterfield.

He is survived by: his spouse Betty Lou Satterfield (Cole); his children, Kevin Satterfield (Nancy) of Brunswick, Georgia Brookman and Lori Brookman (Kevin) of Mount Vernon, Illinois; his grandchildren, Ryan Satterfield, Matthew Satterfield, Tara Brookman of Mount Vernon and Kyle Brookman (Jennifer) of Evans, Georgia; and his daughter-in-law Ann Satterfield of South Carolina.
