He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles William Longwell, Sr. and Viola Longwell (Cook); his wife Cynthia Ann Longwell (Palm); his daughter Rachel Longwell; and his siblings, Herbert Wilkey, David Homer Wilkey, Nancy Longwell, Dennis Longwell and Darla Hake.
He is survived by: his son Charles W. Longwell III; his grandchildren, Phoebe and Rory Longwell; and his siblings, Sue Lause (Wilkey), Donna Spenner (Wilkey), Gail Brady (Wilkey), Melanie Schmeck (Longwell) and David Longwell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in Charles' honor to Angels on Assignment, U of I Foundation, or the ASPCA.
