It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles W. Story (Mount Vernon, Illinois), born in Sesser, Illinois, who passed away on March 18, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis J. Story and Bessie E. Story (Mitchell); his wife Clara A. Story (Turner); and his siblings, James Story, Logan Story, Goldie Reiger, Effie Watkins, Lucille Story and Robert Story.
He is survived by: his children, Kurt Steinhaus of Bisbee, Leonard Story (Deborah) of Glenwood, Cindy Workman (Raymond) of Mount Vernon and Anita Story of Mount Vernon, Illinois; his grandchildren, Charles Workman, Stephen Szarek, Raeden Szarek, Melissa Workman, Allison Workman and Zephanie Szarek; his great grandchildren, Hayley Buchanan, Tylee Crawford and Dakota Buchanan; and his siblings, Lewis J. Story of Odin and Viola Werlinger of West City, Illinois. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in Charles' honor to Lighthouse Baptist Church.
