With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carmen Self of Mount Vernon, Illinois, born in Centralia, Illinois, who passed away on March 31, 2023 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde E. Hawkins and Elsie Hawkins (Lee); her spouse Eddie M. Self, Jr.; her children, Brent Self and Holly Self; and her grandsons, Adam and Wyatt Self.
She is survived by: her children, Edward Self, III (Karen) of The Woodlands, Lesa Mann (Gary) of Mount Vernon and Clyde Self (Martha) of Nashville, Tennessee; her daughter-in-law Sherry Self of Woodlawn, Illinois; and her grandchildren, Whitney Keyser (Chris) of Nashville, Ethan Self (Kelsey) of Farragut, Ryan Self (Lauren) of Wheaton, Patrick Self, Gareth Gingell of Austin, Scott Self of College Station, Christopher Self (Brandy) of Woodlawn, Ashley Johnson (Greg), Hailey Moore (Daniel) of Mount Vernon, Brian Mann (Janelle) of O'Fallon, Kelli McLaurin (Jason) of Mount Vernon and Matthew Mann (Amy) of Wheaton, Illinois. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
