With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Lou Gowler of Mount Vernon, Illinois, who passed away on June 12, 2023 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Forest Clifton and Lottie McKitrick (Russell); her former husbands, Carl Lane and James Thornhill; her husband Howard Wayne Gowler; her children, Ryan Lane and Carla; her sister Verna Outland; and her niece Melissa Outland.
She is survived by: her nieces, Brenda Hulbert York of Mount Vernon and Judy Cole (Richard) of Walnut Hill, Illinois; her close friends, Debbie Terry, Karen Morgan and Linda Waller; and her pet Lucy Lou.
Memorials may be made in Betty 's honor to Logan Street Baptist Church Building Fund or ASPCA.
