He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Beard and Helen Louise Beard (Whisenhunt); and his uncle Dearld Beard. He is survived by: his sons, Jeremy Beard (Lexis) of Olive Branch and Darren Beard (Amanda) of Mount Vernon, Illinois; and his grandchildren, Arya Beard of Olive Branch, Jordan Beard of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Evan Taylor of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Shih Tzu and Tipper.

Memorials may be made in Benny's honor to Jefferson County Animal Shelter.
