It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Arthur Dewey Highfill (Mount Vernon, Illinois), born in Cisne, Illinois, who passed away on July 23, 2020, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Highfill and Goldie Highfill; his son William Barber of Englewood, Tennessee; and his siblings, Jackie, Kay Francis, Doris and Charlene.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth A. Highfill (Burwell); and his children, Tammy Jo Melvin (Johnny) of DuQuoin, Artie Highfill of Mount Vernon, Robin Metcalf (Doug) of Irvington and Tina Atwell (Wes) of Athens, Tennessee.. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Arthur's honor to Shriners Hospitals for Children and will be accepted at Hughey Funeral Home.
