It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mark Vest of Mount Sterling, Illinois, born in Decatur, Illinois, who passed away on June 14, 2023, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Richard and Margie Vest (Warnick). He is survived by: his spouse Willette Eugena Phillips of Columbus, Indiana.; his sisters, Georgiana Paine (Ted) and Patricia Moore (Wally) of Decatur, Illinois; his daughters, Cynthia Schoon (Rich) of Morocco, Indiana, Julie Wilson (Hank) of Champaign, Illinois, Martha Blakeley (James) of Mt. Sterling, Illinois and Wendy Gilliland (Todd) of Macomb, Illinois.; his grandchildren, Richelle Batteast (Ryan), Mike Schoon (Shawna), Shawn Schoon (Hallie), Marissa Schoon, Eddie Schoon, Alex Seelbach (Derek), Trey Wilson (Paige), Jonah Wilson, Andie Wilson, Gabe Blakeley, Eli Blakeley, Lizzy Blakeley, Emma Gilliland, Annie Gilliland and Lucy Gilliland; and his great grandchildren, Tyson, Zion Batteast and Skylee Schoon.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to The Kissing Well (FNC Academy) in Uganda started and run by the Gillilands.
