With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Kathleen Downey of Mount Sterling, Illinois, born in Quincy, Illinois, who passed away on February 14, 2023 at the age of 88. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Kathleen Downey to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James A. Keltz and Tessie B. Diss Keltz; her husband David Darrell Downey; her sister Arlene; her brother-in-law Butch Dieker; her brother Robert; her sister-in-law Maxine Downey; and her godsons, Tommy Clark and Bruce Dieker.
She is survived by: her daughters, Dava Ashley (David) of Dove Canyon, Kimberly Smith (Chuck Hancock) and Michelle Downey (Scott Fuget) of Mt. Sterling; her grandsons, Phillip Downey Smith (Marisa Largent) of Elmwood, Jacob David of Dove Canyon and Conner James Ashley of Dove Canyon; and her sister Marilyn Clark of Mt. Sterling. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to the Mt. Sterling American Legion Post # 374 Auxiliary or the Mt. Sterling Catholic Cemetery.
