He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Mardis and Dorothy Mardis (Goetsch); his wife Sheila Rae Wilham; his sister Judy Coogan; and his great-nephew Caleb Coogan.
He is survived by: his stepson Jerod Fults of Lincoln; his stepgranddaughter Kat Long of Decatur, IL; his nephew J. C. Coogan (Joyce) of Mt. Pulaski; his niece Teena Lowery (Doug) of Mt. Pulaski; his brother-in-law Jim Boy Coogan; and his nephews, Cady Lowery of Colorado Springs, CO, Michael Lowery of Mt. Pulaski and Claire Coogan of Mt. Pulaski.
