He was predeceased by: his spouse Ursel M. Schmidt; his daughter Anita Crawford (late Kevin); his granddaughter Kirsten; his brothers, Rudy Schmidt (Ursel) and Heinz Schmidt (Brunhilde); and his parents, Alexander Schmidt and Elisabeth Schmidt.
He is survived by: his daughter Erika Schmidt; his grandchildren, Hailee and Christian Crawford; and his siblings, Kurt Schmidt (Irene) and Renate Dengler (Wolfgang).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. John Lutheran Church (1100 S Linneman Rd, Mt Prospect, IL 60056). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
