It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Elizabeth Hamby of Mount Olive, Illinois, who passed away on August 4, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, David Judson and Anna Day Lakin (Scott); her former husband Clifford Hamby; her son-in-law Clifton Cange; and her siblings, Anna Charlotte Flowers, Virginia Maxville, Betty Dorway, Bess Louise Fenton, Yvonne Mathis, David "Bud" Lakin, Richard Lakin, Stanley Bobby Lakin, Elmer Clinton "Sonny" Lakin, Johnny Lakin, Barry Lakin and Gerald "Jeep" Lakin.
She is survived by: her children, Later, Sandra Anton of St. Charles, Missouri and Jeffrey; her daughter-in-law Carol Hamby of Mt. Olive, Illinois; her children, Mark Hamby of Edmond, Oklahoma and Diane; her son-in-law Michael Hahn of Overland, Missouri; her daughter Angela Cange of Maryville, Illinois; her grandchildren, Jason Hamby, Brittany Cange, Ryan Hamby, Joshua Hahn and Adam Cange; her great grandchildren, Clayton Hamby, Mason Hamby, Colton Hamby and Alyssa Devries; and her brother Tracy Lynn Lakin.
