He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Nowell and Roberta Nowell (DeRousse); his former wife Sharon Knes; his daughter Kimberly; his parents-in-law, Lawrence and Shirley Knes; his sister Rosetta Mathenia; and his sister-in-law Sue Nowell (Meyer).
He is survived by: his wife Paulette Nowell; his daughter Terri Nowell (Steve Jansen); his grandchildren, Eli Jansen and Grace Jansen; his siblings, Thomas Nowell (Karen), Jan Straub (Fred), Ronald Nowell (Sue), Louis Nowell and Marilyn Moss (Randy); his stepsons, Tim Crawford (Joan) and Matt Crawford; his grandchildren, Lauren Jansen Mills, Drew Jansen, Weston, Edison and Lincoln Crawford; and his brothers-in-law, Ed Knes (Alma), Don Mathenia and Phil Forbeck (Sheryl). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to the Mt. Olive City Cemetery, Zion Lutheran Church and the Alzheimer's Association.
