She was predeceased by: her father Harold E. Nelson, Sr.; and her sister Marvene Nelson. She is survived by: her mother Claudia E. Nelson (Purvis); her sons, Rashad Nelson Mohamed, Amir Nelson Mohamed and Omar Mohamed; her siblings, Marva Nelson, Gloria Wilkins, Connie Houston (Lamar), Harold E. Nelson II, Hazel Stanley, Sandra Brown (Danny), Glenda Nelson and Karen Warren (Tony); her child Welfare Specialist; and her former spouse Mubarak Mohamed. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
