It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rachel Lea Adams (Mound City, Illinois), who passed away on September 30, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Earl William Adams; her son Earl William Adams Jr.; her parents, Lovie B. Hutchins (Lane) and O'Neal "Pike" Schoffner (Earl Adams Sr.); her sisters, Irene McBride, Lovie Mae Thompkins and Gloria Watson; and her granddaughter Alisha Adams.
She is survived by: her children, Freda Jeanette Schoffner, Evangelist Marva Lavette Purchase (Kent) and Minister Darrell Gene Adams (Sandra); her siblings, Phyllis Powell (Kitty) of Metropolis and Harold Milbourn (Jo) of Chicago, Illinois.; her grandchildren, Glen, Karen, Chris, Ronald, Wesley, Jonathan, Rita, Darina, Tara, Ethan, Andrea, Darrell Jr., Ashley and Katie; and her close friend Wilma Jean Morris (Bell). She is also survived by 21 greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins.
