He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorant Murphy and Carrie Beatrice Patterson; his daughter Casey Loraine; his wife Pamela Patterson (Bailey); his brothers, Frankie James and Jimmy Patterson; and his brothers-in-law, Smith Jackson, L. D. Sheldon, Scottie E. Adkinson and Sylvester Adkinson.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, LeAjah, Leon III, LeJayah and LeNajah Patterson of Pulaski, Illinois; his siblings, Frances Royster (Charles) of Marietta, Hattie Nichols Jackson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Lorant Murphy Patterson Jr. (Viola) of Milwaukee, Johnny Patterson of Milwaukee, Archie Patterson (Shirley) of Milwaukee and Larry Patterson (Diane) of Carbondale, Illinois; and his stepchildren, Ramesica Tucker (Bailey), Ronnie Bailey (Tara) and Mona Bailey. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
