He was predeceased by: his parents, William A. Thorne and Ruth Thorne (Powers); and his brother Thomas. He is survived by: his sons, Dennis Thorne (Christi) of Streator, IL and Michael Thorne (Laura) of Washington, IL; and his grandchildren, Jessicah Rosa (David) of Varna, IL, Andriah Mohr (Frank) of Mesa, AZ, Isaac Thorne (Jennifer) of Knoxville, TN, Ethan Thorne (Staci) of Tolono, IL, Madelene Holland (Jamison) of Mendota, IL and Kayla R. Thorne of St. Louis, MO. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church.
