We are sad to announce that on April 18, 2024, at the age of 94, Nilah M. Fischer of Morton, Illinois, born in Berne, Indiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Hackenjos and Silvia Hackenjos (Kohler); her husband Robert L. Fischer of Roanoke; and her siblings, Glenn Hackenjos (Kay), Myron Hackenjos (Lorine), Carl Hackenjos (Evelyn) and Phyllis Smith (Lawrence).
She is survived by: her children, Mark Fischer (Mary Ann) of Copperas Cove, Janet MacLean (John) of Champaign, Karen Sommer (Brian) of Morton and Brian Fischer (Mary Sue) of Lucasville, Ohio; her sisters, Fern Kaehr and Dema Hackenjos; and her siblings-in-law, Joann Fischer, Evelyn Hackenjos, Leroy Fischer and Elias Fischer. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; four great grandchildren.
