He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Buffington and Dorothy Buffington (Budlong); his sons, Shane and Brandon; and his sister Kathy Carlson.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Buffington of Morton; his children, Michelle Hajny of Morton, Sean Buffington of Denville, N. J. and Scott Buffington (Jenna) of East Peoria; his grandchildren, Shane Hajny, Kent Buffington, Noah Hajny, Seandon Buffington, Blake Hajny and Carolynne Buffington; and his brothers, Bob Buffington (Ann) and Bruce Buffington (Nancy).
Memorials may be made to Morton Gridiron Club for the Morton High School football team.
