He was predeceased by: his siblings, Richard, Edith and Audrey. He is survived by: his parents, Albert John and Emma Louise Rust (Schaller); his spouse Jean Eleanor Hess; his children, Tom Rust of Oakland, Ken Rust of Morton, Nancy Carter (Allen) of Champaign and Carolyn Thompson (Jeff) of Bloomington, Ill.; his grandchildren, Arica Rust and Tripper Carter; and his siblings, Edward Rust (Lena) of Bunker Hill, Dale Rust (Luella) of Bethalto, Ill., Marilyn Bertels of Bethalto and Corleen Heuer of Plainview.
