He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Wempen and Meta Wempen (Pehle); his daughter Karen Sue Wayne; and his siblings, James Wempen and Ruth McGinnis.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Wempen of Morrisonville; and his children, Melvin Wempen, Jr. (MaDonna) of Raymond, Kurt Wempen (Janet) of Morrisonville and Connie Young (Jim) of New Windsor. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
