He is survived by: his brother-in-law Bill Sykes; his children, Penny Dyke (John) of Morrison, Melody Hartson (Tim Hartman) of Argo Fay, IL, Gerry Akker (Shari) of Morrison and Steve Akker (Lynn) of Mt. Morris, IL; his grandchildren, Shanna Welch (Dennis), Luke Akker, Jason Akker (Katie) and Andrew Akker; his great grandchildren, Tyvan Hartson, London Hasenmiller, Zachary and Zoey Akker; and his siblings, Virginia Carrol-Williams (Wayne) of Las Vegas, NV and Dr. Lee Akker of Idaho.
