He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Gilbert and Loretta Gilbert; and his wife Charmaine Thomsen. He is survived by: his sister Shirley Hanrahan of Dewitt; his niece Michele Bott (late Dan) of Clinton; his nephew Mike Hanrahan (Barb) of Fulton; and his great-nephew Jake Hanrahan (Meghan Paulsen) of Monument, Colorado..

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Morrison Athletic Boosters.
