He was predeceased by: his parents, Grace Boelkins (VanZuiden) and Bob Boelkins; his mother-in-law Ruth Gorzny; his son Derik; his stepdaughter Sheila; and his close friends, Bud, Rodney, Willo and Cletus.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Vegter (Gorzny); his daughters, Natasha Boelkins of Moline, IL. and Julie Vegter of El Mirage, AZ.; his grandchildren, Jordan Nailor of Sparta, WI., Jazzlynn Boelkins of Moline, IL., Jada of Moline, IL., Jaycee of Moline, IL. and James Whited of Moline, IL.; his siblings, Judy Leech (Doug) of Morrison, IL. and Rich Boelkins (Diane); his siblings-in-law, Rod and Jacki Gorzny of Lyndon, IL.; and his grandchild Marfan Syndrome. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
